Summer tips from Pandox's operated hotels!
We asked the teams at some of our own operated hotels for the best summer activities in their cities. Here are their answers.
Copenhagen
The Meatpacking District
The name says it all: the Meatpacking District was once the city’s meat industry hub, now turned into restaurant, art & party district. The industrial air and architecture of the area provides the perfect backdrop for everything going on in this part of town, from new trending restaurants to beer bars, to fish restaurants, to coffee bars, galleries and party places.
Some of Copenhagen’s best restaurants, clubs and galleries can be found here, and with literally 2 minutes away from Hotel Mayfair, this place is not to be missed. Go for a stroll between the last decade’s industrial streets and discover today’s modern way of life settling in.
Lübeck
Lübeck’s Old Town is an island, surrounded by the river Trave, and the best and most unique way to discover it is from the water. With the small electric boats of “Boat Now” you can be a captain for a couple of hours – no boat license needed! Grab a couple of friends and a picnic basket and enjoy the maritime atmosphere.
Brussels
Tomorrowland is currently billed as the world’s largest dance festival and this upcoming event is yet another example of why festivals in Brussels attract a truly global audience. Taking place over the first three weekends in July, attendees will be exposed to a wide range of dance music as well as some of the most respected DJs on the planet.
Brussels is a must for comic book fans and the Brussels Comics Strip Festival is unmissable. Come to this festival and discover the many worlds and genres of comics. Two major events are on the programme: Baloon Day, during which larger-than-life comic strip characters parade through the city; and the Car Rally, which exhibits a hundred classic cars.
Dortmund
The Juicy Beats Festival (held 29-30 July) has been held annually for over 15 years in Dortmund's largest city park, the Westfalenpark jus opposite the hotel.
Over two days, music fans can listen to a variety of electro, indie, alternative, hip-hop, house, techno and reggae music on six stages and several floors.
Bremen
Manhattan, is that you? Beautiful old Bürgerpark
Inspired by the big model in New York the beautiful Bürgerpark in Bremen's center beats like the green heart of the city and invites you to spend the day in the green. On an area of about 200 hectares, the beautiful oasis has a lot to discover for the whole family!
For example, why not take the time to relax and unwind on a rowing boat, having a picknick in the shade of the old trees, playing minigolf or visit the animal enclosures?
Changing events make it all complete.
