"I'm glad that Pandox wants me to guide this big box into a bright future"

We're happy to announce that Frank Rücker will take over as the General Manager of Hotel Berlin, Berlin.

August 18, 2020

What attracted you to accept the position at Hotel Berlin, Berlin?
Hotel Berlin, Berlin with 701 rooms and 46 conference facilities is one of the biggest players in Berlin and Germany. I am glad that Pandox wants me to guide this big box into a bright future. At the moment, the hotel undergoes a huge “Masterplan refurbishment” of all public areas, conference rooms and food & beverage outlets. This is of course a great opportunity for me and my team to strengthen our position and set an even bigger footprint into the market.

What experiences and lessons do you bring with you from Bremen?
I have been at Pandox for seven years, which means that I am aware of and enjoy the great “Pandox Spirit” and the freedom we all have to make decisions and developing our hotels, teams and ourselves in the way we believe is best. From my experience, I know how to deal with big refurbishments and investments, such as now here in Berlin. We work hard – and we play hard.

What measures do you take to make the guests feel safe?
Hotel Berlin, Berlin and all Pandox own operated hotels in Germany are certified with the Safe Guard Label from Bureau Veritas. With us you can feel safe and we are constantly monitoring the dynamic situation.

How do you see the importance of good leadership in these times?
Good leadership for me is about living values: trust, integrity, honesty. This should always come first – no matter in which times. And it helps when it goes along with experience and an always positive mindset. There will come better times, that is for sure, and this is what we should keep our eyes on.
